The Byron and Victoria Family Medical Centres employ a multidisciplinary, family centered approach in the delivery of comprehensive primary care. BFMC and VFMC are affiliated with both the Thames Valley Family Health Team and the University of Western Ontario. The Byron and Victoria Family Medical Centre teams are involved in teaching Family Medicine to medical residents, and other health care providers. We are seeking an experienced Registered Practical Nurse who will demonstrate excellence in the provision of Family Practice Nursing in a primary care setting.

Regular Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $37.10 per hour - $37.77 per hour
Qualifications
- Current Certificate of General Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP (C) for which you can provide proof upon request
- Minimum two (2) years recent nursing experience
- Minimum one (1) year of recent community-based family practice experience, emergency department experience, and/or urgent care experience
- Experience in primary care programs - immunization schedules, health screening, well baby checks and minor procedures preferred
- Demonstrated competency for venipuncture
- Proficiency in the use of computers and relevant software applications including Practice Solutions (PSS), Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Cerner Scheduling systems preferred
- Demonstrates professional judgment and interpersonal skills in caring for patients, their families, other health care team members and the community.
- Ability to work flexible hours as position requires
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and Oral) including managing conflict and negotiating positive outcomes
- Demonstrated patient education skills including supporting the development and implementation of education strategies, and patient education materials
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills including assisting in the development of procedure guidelines, liaison with specialty services and community resources, directing or guiding patients according to patient care needs
- Evidence of commitment to professional development and self-directed learning
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a cooperative and facilitative manner.
- Demonstrated clinical skills including time management, organization, prioritizing, critical thinking and problem solving
