We are seeking a detail-oriented Research Student to join our growing pediatric epilepsy research program. The Research Student will be responsible for carrying out research functions in collaboration with principal investigators, research staff, and students. They will maintain research documentation, as well as assist with data entry and validation. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a research environment while contributing to various projects aimed at improving outcomes for children with epilepsy and related conditions. 

 

Rate of Pay: $17.20/hr 

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week 

Duration: 8 weeks

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 

  • Support ongoing research projects through accurate data entry and validation 
  • Assist with the maintenance of study documentation and records
  • Collaborate with research team members to ensure data integrity and confidentiality
  • Contribute to data collection activities
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to research-related tasks as needed

Qualifications

 
  • Completion of high school diploma 
  • Preferably 1 year of recent experience in data entry; preferably in a research environment 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a particular strength in Excel 
  • Willingness to learn and work with new databases 
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC 
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
