Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Research Integration, the Coordinator, Research Operations is accountable for the leadership of front-line research staff. This includes day-to-day unit activities, work assignment, attendance management, talent development, professional development, research budget maintenance and monitoring, and implementing best practices to ensure research quality and excellence at London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute (LHSCRI). The role coordinates with principal investigators and corporate HR for reassignments, hiring, and termination of research staff. The role fosters effective working relationships, interfacing with external research sponsors such as industry sponsors, Clinical Research Organizations, Canadian government research funding agencies, and other funding agencies to monitor quality of study site performance, attract more research opportunities, and ensure that research projects are adequately funded. The role provides linkages between researchers, research staff, health disciplines, nursing and functional areas at LHSC to create research opportunities, promote research services available at LHSCRI, and contribute to the integration of research and care.

What Skills Are Needed
- Understanding of budgets to advise principal investigators on budget items related to staffing costs, projecting future needs
- Basic understanding of clinical trials management

What You Will Bring with You
- Successful completion of a recognized baccalaureate degree program in a related field such as Health Sciences or a Science-related discipline, preferred*
- Related post-graduate education preferred (Master's degree)
- Minimum one to two (1-2) years' experience in progressively more responsible leadership roles in a healthcare environment, preferably in an acute care academic teaching hospital
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in Research referred
- Fluent and computer literate with computer systems such as email and Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
*Consideration for an interview will be given to an education and prior experience assessment

Immunization Requirements:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health's current definition of being fully vaccinated
