As the research institute of London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), we conduct research where patient care is delivered, working alongside patients, families, health-care providers and academic partners like Western University. The successful applicant will be part of the Critical Care Research Group. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to patient recruitment, consenting, data entry and patient follow-up for multiple research studies. The Research Assistant will be working under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Site Research Coordinator/ Manager.

 

Temporary Full Time

 

Rate of Pay: $25.25-31.56 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Duration: 12 months, with potential for renewal

Approximately 2,900 Nursing, Health and other students ranging from secondary school to university graduate level programs receive training at LHSC every year. Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences or related field
  • One year of year recent related experience; preferably in a clinical research environment
  • Screening for clinical or device trials
  • Ability to communicate with families who are experiencing stressful or emotional circumstances 
  • Ability to communicate precisely with the treating team
  • Experience with REDCap and other electronic data capture formats
  • SOCRA or ACRP certified, an asset
  • Ability to prioritize workload with attention to detail
  • Proven flexibility with a high level of initiative and self-direction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with Cerner PowerChart an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Committed to ongoing learning 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis with a positive work record and excellent 
  • attendance record
