Learning & Development
In collaboration with the Learning and Development and Black Health Teams, the Learning Developer works to create learning programs and assets to support the learning needs at LHSC. Working with a broad range of Subject Matter Experts (staff, leaders, physicians) the Learning Developer will design and develop adult learning programs based on best practice using a variety of media platforms. The Learning Developer will strive to continuously improve the learning offerings and find new and innovative ways to deliver learning that is accessible and relevant for all intended learners within a health care setting.
The role will also support with needs assessment and environment scans to determine best approach for learning, and engage in the facilitation and delivery of workshops and programs.
This role will design impactful learning experiences and training focused on anti-racism, with a focus on anti-Black racism, unconscious bias, etc., and will help increase awareness of anti-racism approaches to healthcare at LHSC.
Temporary Full-Time, up to April 2025

Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you have:
- Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in Education or Learning Design, or a related field acceptable to the Hospital
- Minimum three (3) years of recent relevant experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of fundamentals of adult learning theories, delivery channels and learning interventions of instructional design theory and application of research and theory to the practice of instructional design and development of Learning
- Advanced technical competence in the areas of graphic and multimedia authoring software for the purposes of course and curriculum design
- Experience with designing and developing learning assets that reflect an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners
- Competency in graphic and multimedia e-learning rapid authoring tools in the creation of e-learning (i.e. Articulate, Storyline) to create interactive SCORM compliant web-based training products
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Proficient facilitation, presentation, and teaching skills
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Additional qualifications:
- Certified Training & Development Professional (Adult Education) preferred
- Familiar with project management and quality assurance review cycles preferred
- Experience designing electronic heath record training related materials preferred
Immunization Requirements
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health's current definition of being fully vaccinated
