The Recruitment Associate is responsible for supporting all external recruitment efforts for internal hiring leaders, including creating job postings, selecting candidates and managing the hire and offer. The Associate manages pre-screening activities, leads interview panels, creates hiring letters and provides salary recommendations and understands collective agreement language. The Associate is the main point of contact for external applicants and provides timely responses to questions, addresses concerns and keeps candidates updated on the status of their application. Designated a public ambassador, the Associate represents LHSC in the community, at career fairs, recruitment events, and facilitating presentations formally and informally as required.
Working closely with various internal teams including Communications and the Office of Inclusion and Social Accountability, Associates engage in additional duties including developing digital marketing recruitment efforts, creating policies to ensure equity, diversity and inclusion is included in recruitment processes and develops strong working relationships with community stakeholders and employment service agencies to collaborate on recruitment ideas.
Temporary Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $31.62 per hour - $39.52 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: up to December 2026
Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you have:
- Successful completion of a Diploma in Human Resources, Business or Communications
- University Degree preferred
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) preferred
- Minimum one (1) year recent, related job experience, three (3) years experience preferred
- Manages all external recruitment efforts for hiring leaders, including candidate selection, interviewing, sourcing, salary negotiation and offering.
- Responds to questions and concerns in a timely manner to both internal team members and external candidates
- Maintains detailed recruitment notes to support recruitment efforts
- Operates on a variety of digital platforms to input recruitment data, including PeopleSoft, Teams, SharePoint and Outlook
- Communicates with fellow team members and delegates work to Associates and Assistants to ensure streamlined recruitment processes
- Maintains excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Employment Legislation, HR policies and practices and employee rights
- Supports the facilitation of workshops and development of networking/career fair events
- Proactively sources candidates through traditional and non-traditional recruitment challenges including LinkedIn, social media, digital platforms, professional colleges, etc
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
