Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders - Mental Health Care Program
The Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Service provides assessment, consultation, outpatient treatment, and intensive treatment for children and adolescents living with eating disorders. The primary treatment modality is family-based treatment. In this position, you will work on an interprofessional team that is comprised of a dietitian, a social worker, nurses, Child and Youth Care workers, a pediatrician, and psychiatrists. The psychologist's responsibilities include: psychological assessment, diagnosis, and providing treatment to children and adolescents with eating disorders; program development and evaluation; education and training; and patient-centered supervision to our staff and students. The position also includes supervision of psychology residents in our accredited psychology residency program. There is also the potential for adjunct faculty appointment with the Department of Psychology at Western University. The team is dedicated to improving our service and the treatment of eating disorders more generally; as such, the successful candidate will supervise the psychometrist to oversee program evaluation and research activities. Psychologists who are particularly interested in family-based treatment for eating disorders and ensuring that care is consistent with empirically supported treatments would be very well suited to the position. Supervision and support is available for new graduates who are required to become registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Rate of Pay: $64.82 per hour - $81.03 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
- Minimum two (2) years recent clinical experience with children and adolescents in a mental health care setting
- Experience in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders preferred
- Authorized (or eligibility to be authorized) to practice Clinical Psychology
- Authorized (or eligibility to be authorized) to practice with Children and Adolescents
- Expertise in psychological assessment and evaluation, diagnoses, biopsychosocial case conceptualization, evidence-based Intervention, and consultation
- Proven advanced ability to apply ethics, standards, and jurisprudence
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Mental Health Act, PHIPA, HCCA)
- Demonstrated ability in program development and evaluation
- Demonstrated ability in working with interprofessional health care teams
- Demonstrated advanced ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships
- Demonstrated advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated flexibility and a commitment to working within an academic environment
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
