The successful applicant will be part of the multidisciplinary Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research Team at University Hospital. The Research Assistant will work collaboratively with the study team and be responsible for the organization, administration and facilitation of assigned clinical research. Duties will include data collection, data entry, source document creation, and other supportive tasks associated with clinical research. The team is comprised of seasoned Research Coordinators and Gastroenterologists working together to treat patients with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.

 

Rate of Pay: $25.25 - $31.56

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Duration: 12 months, contract may be renewable 

Qualifications

 
  • Successful completion of a Post-Secondary degree/diploma in Clinical Research, Health Sciences, Sciences, Allied Health, or related discipline
  • Experience working in a clinical research environment preferred
  • Proficient in medical terminology
  • Data entry experience
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize competing tasks
  • Team oriented
  • Proficient computer skills with experience working with MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of current regulations and guidelines for conducting clinical trials (ICH, GCP, USA FDA, Tri-Council Policy Statement) and privacy legislation (PIPEDA, PHIPA) preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency to prioritize workload with strong attention to detail
  • Responsible and self-motivated with the ability to take initiative when needed.
  • Excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
