Decision Support
The Decision Support Analyst performs data analysis, writes queries, and creates and distributes reports to clients within the organization and external stakeholders. They provide ongoing data support to various clients throughout the organization. Clients include clinical and business leaders, executives, and researchers. Analysts write SQL queries to gather data from multiple sources to create data sets, validate data against benchmarking and standards, and develop reports to support clinical and business leaders' decision-making. Analysts primarily focus on understanding existing data sources, identifying where data lies within these systems, and determining how data can be translated into information through reports. The Decision Support Analyst supports and maintains regular or ad hoc report submissions to the Ministry of Health on behalf of the organization and produces a large set of regular (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly) reports that get distributed internally and externally.
Rate of Pay: $34.22 per hour - $45.58 per hour
Status: Temporary Full-Time
Duration: Until August 2026
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a University Degree in Health Informatics, Statistics, Bio-Statistics, Epidemiology, Computer Sciences or Mathematics
- Minimum 1-3 year(s) of experience
- Expert knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Excellent knowledge of data reporting and analysis tools such as Power BI and Tableau
- Advanced ability to synthesize innovative approaches to data analysis, interpretation and communication
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
