The Finance Clerk is responsible for accurate and timely processing of patient, sundry, Ministry of Health (MOH) diagnostic, WSIB and interprovincial reciprocal billings as well as recording the related Revenue and Asset journal entries. In addition, the Finance Receivables Clerk is responsible for invoice generation and the processing of physician professional diagnostic payments. The role represents the organization through direct interaction with patients, physicians, insurance companies, the MOH, the Workplace, Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) and 3rd party service providers regarding patient and sundry claims, billings and collection.
Temporary Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $27.54 per hour - $34.42 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: up to January 2026
Qualifications
- Successful completion of 2-year certificate/diploma in Business, Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the Hospital
- Minimum 1-year recent, relevant experience
- Crucial conversations training preferred
- Knowledge of receivables management best practices
- Knowledge of financial accounting standards (e.g. GAAP)
- Knowledge of receivables management applications, preferably HRCM (INFOR ? Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management)
- Knowledge of productivity applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to have difficult conversations
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC?s Vision, Purpose and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
