Mental Health - Adult I/P
The Adult Inpatient Mental Health Program is a provider of adult mental health services primarily for Middlesex County. The program offers stabilization and treatment for adults over 18 years of age.
The Inpatient service offers short-term admissions for crisis stabilization, assessments of a variety of mental health spheres and coordination with community resources for follow up treatment and community support after discharge. Care provided includes crisis intervention, individual support and milieu management. The mental health registered practical nurse works within the context of a collaborative interdisciplinary team reflecting the principles of patient family centered and evidenced based care.

Regular Full-Time
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $37.10 per hour - $37.77 per hour
Qualifications
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course (BCLS-HCP) for which you can provide proof upon request
- Minimum one (1) year recent, related experience in a mental health care setting
- Successful completion of a Pharmacology course
- Demonstrated commitment to interprofessional collaborative teamwork and care
- Demonstrated competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), patient assessment, intramuscular and subcutaneous injections
- Demonstrated knowledge of Cerner or an electronic health record preferred
- Demonstrated ability to practice effectively in a collaborative interdisciplinary team setting
- Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, physicians and colleagues
- Ability to function autonomously and adapt to rapidly changing situations and varying workloads
- Commitment to the achievement of goals and objectives in patient care
- Proven problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development
- Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict
- Demonstrated computer proficiency with Automated Clinical Systems
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
