The ICES Kidney, Dialysis, and Transplantation (KDT) program is seeking an analyst to work collaboratively with our network of researchers and our staff, applying research methodology in the context of health services administrative data (https://www.ices.on.ca). You will draw from all of Ontario?s ~ 18 billion records (~ 1 trillion data points). With KDT you can take pride in your work and participate in driving real-world change. The KDT program operates out of London Health Sciences Centre?s Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. The analyst will be an employee of LHSC and the London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute, and a legal agent of ICES. The successful candidate will be required to work on-site four days a week starting from their first day until the completion of their first project, which marks the end of their training period (approximately one year).
Rate of Pay: $32.66 - $40.83
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 1 year, renewable
Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Responsibilities of the position include, but may not be limited to:
- Participating in the development of study designs and analytic plans;
- Developing SAS programs to extract, merge and manipulate data from existing ICES databases to create study cohorts;
- Conducting exploratory and statistical analyses, preparing and reviewing analytic outputs;
- Engaging with the project team to provide advice on research feasibility, design, methodology, availability of ICES data and interpretation of findings;
- Contributing to reports, abstracts, peer-reviewed publications and other relevant deliverables, in collaboration with principal investigators;
- Coordinating projects and facilitating communication between investigators, trainees and staff;
- Applying general project management principles including monitoring project timelines, scope, budget and deliverables;
- Contributing to a body of knowledge around variable definitions, macros and templates, analytical approaches or limitations in our data and resolving data issues as they arise;
- Continuing to maintain and expand professional skills;
- Perform other duties as appropriate and necessary for the efficient functioning of the team.

Qualifications
- BSc. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or related field, with a thorough understanding of biostatistical analytic techniques (MSc or PhD preferred)
- At least one year of experience in a health facility or health research environment, with similar involvement in identifying or working with administrative data sources, designing research studies, procuring data, preparing reports, and editing with scientific rigour
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
