REGULAR PART-TIME MEDICAL LABORATORY ASSISTANT
Position available immediately

Job Duties:
  • Available for all shifts (7.5h) including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
  •  To provide assistance to the technologist with the performance of phlebotomy, clerical functions, and preparation of samples for analysis.

Job Qualifications
 
  • Graduate from an approved Medical Laboratory Assistant Program 
  • MLPAO or CSMLS certification required
  • Member of CMLTO Voluntary Roster of Registered Medical Laboratory Technicians preferred
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Ability to assess concurrent demands, set priorities, organize work and maintain accuracy in a busy environment.
  • Excellent communication skills  (particularly oral/telephone) and critical thinking skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to perform duties independently and professionally
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and self-directed learning
  • Demonstrated excellence in attendance
  • Understanding and demonstrated use of good body mechanics
  • Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months and documented proof of 2 Covid 19 vaccinations
