NSQIP - Office of Capacity Management

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives within the Office of Capacity Management, the Quality Improvement (QI) Facilitator is a key member of the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) team. The QI Facilitator works closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement based on outcomes from the NSQIP reports. The QI Facilitator leads quality improvement activities, provides project management support, conducts data analyses, tracks outcomes, and designs reports to present NSQIP data in a clear and meaningful format. This position serves as a subject matter expert for the internal NSQIP team, is a key contact for external NSQIP partnerships (American College of Surgeons (ACS) and Ontario Surgical Quality Network (ON-SQIN)), and manages other internal and external relationships, including relationships with surgeons, Operating Room staff, and staff at other NSQIP-participating hospitals.

Rate of Pay : $43.04 per hour - $53.80 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications

 
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in Health/Business Administration or Health related field
  • Lean/Six Sigma - Green Belt, preferred
  • Project Management Certification, preferred 
  • Minimum two (2) years recent, related job experience
  • Previous clinical and/or surgical experience, preferred 
  • Knowledge and skill working with data-related aspects of performance management
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality improvement concepts with emphasis on systems improvement, continuous quality improvement
  • Knowledge and skills with application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analyses
  • Knowledge of clinical processes within the hospital setting; experience with a clinical performance measurement system and knowledge of quality improvement aspects of performance measurement
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, benchmarks and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of applicable and prevailing legislation and their impact on health care
  • Demonstrated understanding and compliance with confidentiality requirements
  • Change leadership skills
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a working member of a team
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of productivity tools such as MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values 
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
