Currently being enrolled in attested education institutions in Canada
DEPARTMENT: Health/Safety/Environment/Carbon Neutral
Pay Rate: $25.45 (4-month contract)
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Health & Safety department on incident investigation, process analysis and process improvement activities.
- Conducted physical demand analysis (PDA) and risk assessments for processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Support improvement of the TBCA stretching program. Transform the stretching program from Static to Dynamic.
- Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings. Assist in closing open concerns.
- Work together with multiple functional departments on Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) activities.
- Planning, developing, and implementing environmental improvement activity
- Staying up to date with news on environmental issues and legislature
- Raising awareness throughout the organization of current environmental issues
- Leading the Green team meetings and implementing improvements suggested by the Great team
- ISO14001 environmental management system compliance &improvement
- Monitoring resource use to ensure it complies with waste management and recycling policies
- Analyzing ecological monitoring data and preparing compliance reports
- Providing training to employees to ensure their understanding of environmental policies
- Bachelor's degree in human Factors, Ergonomics, Kinesiology, Sports Science, Physiology, Occupational therapy or any other related field of study or equivalent practical experience
- Must be a current Student in the Advanced Ergonomic Studies
- Previous Health & Safety experience is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of provincial or territorial environmental policies
- Understanding of environmentally friendly technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to solve problems efficiently
- Ability to develop innovative project ideas for reducing environmental impact
- Ability to complete assigned projects on time within a designated budget
- Ability to lead a team and designate project tasks effectively
- Ability to analyze data and create reports
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to conduct environmental research and create policies from the research
- Driver's license and reliable vehicle; required to support both Toyota Boshoku Canada locations: Elmira &Woodstock
- Strong public speaking skills to communicate to groups of people about environmental issues
