We are looking for a part-time Registered Practical Nurse to join our Riverstone team! This position is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. including every other weekend.

About the Role
- Responsible for all aspects of nursing care and directs the duties of personal care staff.
- Participate in the multi-disciplinary, residence-wide Quality/Visions for Improving Performance (VIP) and Infection Prevention and Control Programs.
- Participates in orientation and in-service programs and standing committees as assigned by the Department Manager.
- Participates in staff meetings as required.
- Maintains effective communication and good interpersonal relations with staff, residents, families and other departments and refers all sensitive issues to ensure consistent response.
- Adheres to company policies, procedures, practices and philosophies and works in accordance with all industry and regulatory compliance agencies, the Ontario Retirement Communities Association, The Retirement Homes Act 2010 and O. Reg 166/1, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Ontario Fire Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and other pertinent legislated regulations/ standards.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and safe Residence environment for residents and team members, ensuring that safe job routines are developed and followed.
- Recognizes safety hazards and takes appropriate action. Knowledgeable of WHMIS/GHS program.
- Completes staff incident/accident reports and advises the General Manager immediately of all staff incidents that may result in a WSIB claim, or other serious occurrences.
Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques including courses or experience in care of the elderly.
- Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook in order to effectively communicate electronically. Willingness to learn multiple computer applications related to Operations, Recognition and Customer Relations.
- Self-directed and team-oriented, with strong organizational, leadership, initiative and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be committed to multi-disciplinary team work and demonstrate an ability to work through collaboration, joint decision making and integrated strategies.
- Must have respect, understanding and empathy for the elderly.

- Must successfully complete a Police Records Check and disclose any convictions, charges, restraining orders, probation orders and/or warrants during the course of employment that affect in any way the clear Police Records Check.
- Must provide documentation to support a Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) or Medical Note from Physician stating free from infectious disease.
