This role helps ensure accurate financial records and efficient day-to-day operations across our Canadian Pharmacy & Medication Adherence business. Through reliable transaction processing, account maintenance, and responsive customer and vendor support, the Accounting Associate contributes to strong financial controls and the ongoing success of the business.
As an Accounting Associate reporting to the Controller & Customer Operations Leader, you’ll support the day-to-day financial and operational activities of our Canadian Pharmacy & Medication Adherence business. You’ll be responsible for key accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory control, and month-end activities while maintaining accurate records and following established controls and company policies. This role is well suited to a detail-oriented, service-focused professional who enjoys balancing accounting responsibilities with customer interaction and takes ownership of financial processes.
What You’ll Be Accountable For
- Customer Payments: Process and apply customer payments received by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), cheque, and credit card to customer accounts in the ERP system.
- Account Reconciliations: Reconcile customer and vendor account balances and investigate discrepancies.
- Receivables & Collections: Monitor outstanding and aged receivables, review orders on credit block, send account statements, and support collection activities as required.
- Invoice & Expense Processing: Review vendor invoices and employee expenses for accuracy, appropriate approvals, and compliance with company policies, then code and post them in the accounting system.
- Vendor Payments: Ensure vendor invoices are paid accurately and on time by cheque and EFT.
- Customer & Vendor Account Support: Respond professionally and promptly to inquiries about invoices, payments, balances, and reconciliations, while creating and maintaining accurate customer and vendor account records and supporting documentation.
- Inventory Control: Investigate and reconcile inventory count variances, identify root causes, and process inventory adjustments and write-offs in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Month-End & Year-End Support: Support monthly and yearly close activities, ad hoc reporting, and periodic audits as required.
- Commissions, Rebates & Accruals: Calculate, reconcile, and post commissions, rebates, and accruals as required.
- Process Improvement: Work collaboratively with operational teams to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Quality, Health, Safety & Environment: Follow all applicable Quality Management System, Health & Safety Management System, and Environmental ISO 14001 policies and procedures.
What You’ll Bring
- A college diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or inventory control.
- A strong customer service orientation, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A high level of data-entry accuracy, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Total Rewards
We’re offering a competitive compensation in the range of $50,000 – $60,000 per year. Pay will be determined based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
