Clinical Informatics - PowerChart Ambulatory 

 

The Clinical Informatics Specialist provides essential support to end users, clinical groups (i.e. committees, educators, professional practice, etc.), ITS projects, and various other customer groups in adopting electronic solutions at a system level. They collaborate closely with Health Informatics, Digital Health, and Information Technology System Communication Services colleagues to address escalations and enhance system services. Acting as a knowledgeable practitioner, consultant, educator, and evaluator, they mentor clinicians to use technology effectively, ensuring high-quality care delivery.

 

The Clinical Informatics Specialist plays a critical role in guiding and supporting regional digital transformation efforts by providing expertise in the assessment, design, integration, implementation and optimization of clinical information systems across multiple Organizations. This role acts as a liaison between organization specific clinical and digital informatics and system level Information Technology Services (ITS) teams. The Clinical Informatics Specialist actively participates in governance and working groups, ensuring Organization-specific needs are addressed within broader regional road maps and design

 

They apply principles of health informatics, clinical practice standards, data management, information systems, and computational thinking to develop and maintain educational materials. They review documentation and resources to ensure alignment with professional standards and departmental objectives. As a liaison between clinical and technical teams, they proactively address clinical process issues and communicate relevant information to stakeholders across London and Regional Hospital Partners.

 

What we offer: 

 

Status: Regular Full-time

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week 

Rate of Pay: $48.19 per hour to $60.23 per hour

Qualifications

 
  • Successful Completion of an Undergraduate Degree in a health-related field, health informatics, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
  • Masters Degree or University Degree + designation preferred 
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of recent related experience 
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems - Canada (CPHIMS-CA) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize initiative, vision, independent thinking
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities to implement educational action plans and assess practice requirements, concerns, and issues
  • Proficiency in time management and self-directed work
  • Ability to work effectively under time pressures to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Proficient interpersonal and effective verbal and written communication skills (i.e., report writing and presentations)
  • Ability to effectively work with diversity, appreciating that different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics can bring richness to the challenge at hand
  • Demonstrated aptitude for using and supporting technology and information systems
  • Experience leveraging Employee Health Records (EHRs) in an acute care hospital setting
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose and Values
