Reporting to the Manager, Business Systems and Receivables, the Business Analyst ensures system, data, and process best practices are adhered to. 

The Business Analyst plans, designs, develops, configures, tests, and maintains application enhancements to support LHSC?s financial reporting.  This requires communication skills to determine business needs, technical expertise to design and implement solutions, and precise attention to detail to test and validate end products. This role performs all aspects of Finance application maintenance and support including troubleshooting technical problems related to the use of all Finance applications.  The Business Analyst maintains Finance master data including general ledger chart of account dimensions and hierarchies. 

The Business Analyst is a high level functional expert and capable of acting as team lead on projects, as well as assisting with the training of less experienced staff.

Rate of Pay:       $34.22 per hour - $47.06 per hour

Hours of Work:   37.5 hours per week

Qualifications

 
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Sciences 
  • Completion of CPA (Chartered Professional Accountants) designation preferred
  • Minimum of three years' experience, five years preferred
  • Knowledge of general ledger and reporting applications (e.g. PeopleSoft General Ledger, Hyperion Planning, Oracle Business Intelligence)
  • Proficient knowledge of regulatory, management and financial accounting standards (e.g. MIS, GAAP)
  • Understanding of technology and business risk and controls within a financial environment
  • Demonstrated ability to research and assimilate a large quantity of diverse information
  • Proficient ability to apply analytical skills to problem identification, understanding, and mapping solutions
  • Strong skills in process-centric thinking
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing process re-design
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values 
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
