Support Applications - I.S. Patient Care Systems

The Support Analyst, Clinical is responsible for the efficient design, coding, testing, and maintenance of the less complex aspects of clinical systems/programs to satisfy clinical user and systems requirements, escalating to the team Business Systems Analyst as required.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Person Management (Foundations) team within the Support Applications portfolio. Key accountabilities for the Person Management (Foundations) team are to support our OneChart system, primarily through the build and maintenance of our location hierarchy; support and maintenance of our print services functionality; application support for our 724 Downtime viewer solution and maintenance, and build of our OneChart end user positions. Responsibilities of a Support Analyst include intake and triage of all helpdesk tickets; build and validation of changes to the applications they support; validation and go-live support for Millennium upgrade activities; project support in conjunction with the Business Systems Analyst and engagement and support of continuous improvement activities. The successful candidate will need to be able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities, eager to learn and possess a keen attention to detail.

Temporary Full-Time up to 12 months

Qualifications

 
  • Successful completion of a two-year or three-year College Diploma with a clinical focus designation (Pharmacy, Nursing, Radiology, Laboratory) or focus relevant to their supported application
  • Current registration/licensing with the relevant regulatory body (if applicable)
  • Minimum three (3) years of recent, relevant experience
  • Experience with applicable Cerner Millennium applications or other clinical/corporate applications as relevant to the role preferred
  • Experience with established applicable clinical processes, nomenclature and hospital environment
  • Demonstrated ability to assimilate a large quantity of diverse information and apply analytical skills to identify, understand and problem solve in a technology-based environment
  • Knowledge of and ability to use, troubleshoot and test a variety of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health applications) as relevant to the role
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders within and outside ITS
  • Experience contributing to the creation of clinical and clerical workflow maps and incorporating updates to test scripts to support system testing
  • Experience with project management techniques including providing input to various aspects of the project lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to consider technical aspects and integrations within a complex clinical system
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and advocating for the advancement and modernization of our electronic patient record

Immunization Requirements

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
