CASUAL PART-TIME ADULT DAY CENTRE ASSISTANT
Adult Day Care Department
Duties:
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with the clients of the ADP to cultivate an atmosphere of friendship, enthusiasm and belonging
- Work harmoniously and effectively with others and promote the philosophy of the ADP in the community and health care field
- Assist ADP Coordinator and Program Assistant with programs/duties as required.
- Position available immediately
Qualifications:
- Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox) and 2 COVID 19 vaccinations
- Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 3 months
- Diploma or certificate in a health care related field
- PSW (Personal Support Worker) certificate preferred
- Experience with complex care an asset
- Strong assessment, communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working with seniors an asset
- Current certificate in CPR/First Aid – renewed annually
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a interdisciplinary team
- Palliative Care, Mechanical Lift, Whirlpool experience an asset
- Demonstrated commitment in ongoing learning and professional development
- Demonstrated excellence in attendance
- Understanding and use of good body mechanics
- Basic computer skills in a Windows environment
