Director, Marketing & Communications

 

About the job

As a member of our Global Marketing team, you will be responsible for managing a team of marketers with a key focus on building, executing, and reporting on omnichannel marketing and branding campaigns that effectively and efficiently generate sales leads at scale.

 

Responsibilities Include:

People Management

  • Ensure staff have clarity of expectations through the delivery of objectives and understanding key deliverables
  • Maintain schedule and established time standard compliance for all staff, i.e. by organizing and directly supervising staff, administering leave, monitoring, responding to staff headcount requirements, etc.
  • Treat employees fairly and equitably, have a sense of self-esteem, and are encouraged to develop to their full potential, i.e. by administering workplace policies and programs
  • Support employee development, i.e. by evaluating performance, providing feedback, and supporting their growth
  • Manage employee issues to enable employees to have a high degree of focus on their jobs, i.e. by resolving employee relations issues, performance problems, and disciplinary issues

 

Branding/Communications Programs & Project Management

  • Develop and deliver short- and long-term marketing, branding, and communications strategies
  • Accountable for driving strength and awareness of the Trudell brand globally
  • Ensure all marcomm offerings conform to brand identity and conduct ongoing brand management
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all internal and external communications
  • Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities including SEO and content strategies, affiliate activities, partnerships and social media
  • Execute the implementation of the marketing strategy including campaigns, events, web, advertising, rich media, digital marketing, social media, sales tools, and PR
  • Ensure that the annual business planning calendar is developed and maintained regularly throughout the year
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers and regional marketing teams to convert product value propositions into effective sales enablement materials
  • Lead in driving projects to completion from both production, execution, and implementation perspectives

 

Marketing Technology Solutions

  • Maintain and grow our marketing technology stack (CRM, and Marketing automation ecosystem) supporting customer (HCP, end-users) retention and acquisition capabilities.
  • Act as marketing technology stack subject matter expert defining the marketing technology roadmap and support training of the Marketing and Sales teams on new technologies to drive internal adoption and utility
  • Work with internal IT, and Compliance teams to flush out marketing technology implementation strategy that aligns to global and local requirements
  • Implementation of digital customer acquisition tools and solutions in core markets and associated analytics
  • Ensure all marketing programs are metrics-driven and goal-oriented; monitor and analyze performance, adjust strategies as necessary to achieve program objectives

 

Meetings and Events Management

  • Manage tradeshow opportunities on a global, regional and national level
  • Ensure that all events and meetings are within budget

 

Relationship Management

  • Manage and maintain ongoing relationships with vendors, agencies, consultants and the media for communications initiatives and technology implementations
  • Manage marketing budget and work with cross-functional team members to execute campaigns
  • Build and manage a calendar for marketing programs to provide transparency for, and create alignment with, key stakeholders

 

Health and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Sciences or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing and communication roles, building and supporting marketing branding and demand generation programs
  • 5+ years of experience in leading/managing teams
  • 5+ years of full time Marketing experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical setting with thorough understanding of all sales cycle stages
  • Strong knowledge of marketing technology ecosystems and platforms - a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in digital marketing technology (CRM / Acquisition)
  • Proven experience and knowledge in establishing sales enablement programs that deliver to customer acquisition and revenue goals
  • Proven working experience in leading CRM, B2B / B2C Digital Marketing automation projects.
  • In-depth understanding of the typical use cases of Digital Marketing Platform implementations (Web, SEO/SEM, Marketing Automation, Demand Generation, Sales Enablement)
  • Highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced remote team environment
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to distil integrated marketing campaigns into clear goals and objectives for the business
  • Strong project management skills, excellent organizational skills, high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, manage competing priorities and conflicting agendas
