Job Description

The Recruitment & Compensation Advisor is responsible for internal recruitment and selection for specific jobs from creation of the job posting through to the selection and hiring of candidates. The role works with applicable leadership to ensure existing job descriptions are reviewed on a regular basis. They support the creation and reclassification of new positions, and participates in market analysis as required.

The Recruitment & Compensation Advisor works with the hiring leader to facilitate recruitment best practices throughout the hiring process including pre-screening, assessment, interview, selection and offer. It is the role of the Recruitment & Compensation Advisor to be the main point of contact for applicants throughout the process and involves answering questions, addressing concerns and keeping them updated on their status in the hiring process.  The Recruitment & Compensation Advisor participates in recruitment and selection grievances, and presents relevant topic information at various LHSC education and training events.

What we offer:

  • Regular Full-Time
  • Rate of Pay:    $33.64 per hour - $42.05 per hour
  • Hours of Work:  37.5 hours per week

As the ideal candidate, you have:

  • Successful completion of a College Diploma in Business Human Resources, or as acceptable by the hospital
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or registered Professional Recruiter, preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years recent, related job experience in a unionized setting 
  • Knowledge of full cycle recruitment best practices
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Employment Legislation, HR policies and practices and employee rights
  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships and achieve results
  • Strong facilitation and networking skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and results oriented
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, social media, and corporate productivity tools
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and using HRIS (Peoplesoft preferred) and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities/deadlines while attending to numerous details in a high-stress environment
  • Advanced ability to work effectively within a team or independently using an above-average level of initiative
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
