Job Summary
London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute (LHSCRI) provides scientific leadership aligned to the strategic plan and clinical strengths of LHSC. Discovery-based scientists, clinical investigators, practice-based researchers, research staff and learners are supported through LHSCRI's Office of Research Services and Research Operations Office. Research Operations are focused on integration of research in the hospital, and direct research support.
The successful candidate will take on the role of Research Admin Coordinator, providing support for clinical research studies within the orthopedic spine surgery program, under the supervision of Dr. Renan Rodrigues Fernandes. In this role, the Research Admin Coordinator will handle various daily administrative tasks. These include managing reception duties, processing mail and correspondence, faxing and photocopying documents, entering data, maintaining confidential files, transcribing and formatting dictations, ordering supplies, creating and revising forms, completing questionnaires, scheduling appointments, arranging meetings, organizing research documentation, and collecting data. Additional responsibilities will involve training research staff and students, as well as providing financial, project, and regulatory administrative support. This includes monitoring and reconciling research-related billing, managing invoices and budgets, assisting with grant and funding applications, preparing and submitting Research Ethics applications, and ensuring the completion and submission of regulatory documents. The coordinator will also oversee study start-up and close-out activities and manage confidential agreements and contracts as necessary. The Research Admin Coordinator will communicate with patients, research and clinical staff, and external stakeholders to facilitate research studies while ensuring compliance with study protocols, research policies, and regulatory requirements.
Temporary Full Time: 1 year contract with possibility for renewal
Hours of work: 37.5 hours
Rate of Pay: $29.93 - $37.41

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare field related to orthopaedic surgery
- Minimum two years relevant experience in a health-related setting required
- Certification through the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) or Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) is an asset
- Experience in research administration preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Cerner PowerChart, Cerner Scheduling, and GroupWise software programs
- An interest and ability to quickly learn new computer software programs an asset
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and pay particular attention to detail
- Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills with a high level of initiative
- Conscientious, dependable and adaptable to manage varying workload
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable interacting with patients and obtaining informed consent for study participation
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated knowledge of commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
