We have an opportunity for a regular full-time Financial Analyst II to join our team. The Financial Analyst II is responsible for the accurate recording and monitoring of financial and statistical information through journal entries and reconciliations. Assist with monthly, quarterly and year end financial statements, audit and reporting, including Ministry reporting such as MIS Trial Balance Submissions. This position is also responsible for performing monthly, quarterly and annual accounting tasks such as variance analysis, account reconciliations and schedules, and client support for clinical and corporate departmental queries.
How you'll contribute:
- You'll support the finance and accounting process of recording, monitoring and analyzing the financial performance of the organization. An integral part of the LHSC Corporate Finance team, your role will include:
- Communicating with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure that financial information is accurate and timely
- Analyzing financial and statistical information when completing monthly/quarterly/annual task and journal entries, following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating potential corrections, follow-up on outstanding items and ensuring accuracy
- Monitor, analyze and adjust financial and statistical information for Ministry reporting purposes, following MISOHRS Guidelines
- Provides guidance and interpretation of MIS standards to LHSC leaders and staff, as the hospital's MIS expert
- Develops and maintains strict processes for data collection; continually evaluates and tests data quality; create information reports for end users; and supports projects/initiatives.
- Assisting Clinical and Corporate leadership and staff with queries and requests
Rate of Pay: $34.22 per hour to $42.78 per hour
Hours of Work : 37.5 hours per week

As the ideal candidate, you have:
- Successful completion of an Undergraduate Degree in Business or Accounting
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or equivalent work experience
- Ontario Health Reporting Standards Level I & II preferred
- Experience with MIS-OHRS Guidelines preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of recent, related experience
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Excel and ideally bring experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a consultative approach
- Advanced accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong ability to take initiative and to adapt to change
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
