VH Lab Echo Adult 2nd Flr

Reporting to the Manager, Cardiac Non-Invasive & Outpatient Services Department, the individual is required to perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms and assist Cardiologists in performing semi-invasive diagnostic procedures including Transesophageal Echo, Stress Echo, Contrast Echo and Pericardiocentesis using the digital echocardiography system. The department offers a wide range of diagnostic Cardiology procedures for both inpatient and outpatient populations.

Temporary Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $36.84 per hour - $51.77 per hour

Duration:  July 12, 2024 - December 11, 2025

 

Qualifications

 
  • Registered Technologist with College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Registration with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (A.R.D.M.S.) or Sonography Canada (preferred)
  • Minimum one year previous related work experience with Adult Echo
  • Experience in all aspects of adult and paediatric Echo
  • Knowledge of complex cardiac pathology
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet Explorer, GroupWise and Cardiac Information Databases
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
  • Ability to function independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to establish relationships with patients, families and members of the healthcare team
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
  • Physically fit and able to perform the duties of the position
  • Knowledge of patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
