Job Summary
The successful applicant will support national research examining the genetic determinants of prescription drug effectiveness and safety. This position will work closely with the Principal Investigator and research team.
Responsibilities include supporting Research Ethics Board submissions, reconsenting currently enrolled patients, recruiting new patients who experience adverse drug reactions (ADRs) or serve as controls, and ensuring accurate data entry and transmission. The role also involves direct interaction with patients and families, requiring excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally.
This is a dynamic research environment that demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
Rate of Pay: $26.01-$32.51
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 3-month contract with possibility of renewal

Qualifications
- Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences or a related field required
- Two years of clinical research experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in patient recruitment and enrollment for research studies considered an asset
- Experience with Research Ethics Board submissions and protocol maintenance considered an asset
- Working knowledge of Human Research Ethics, Tri-Council Policy, Good Clinical Practices, Health Canada and FDA regulations an asset
- Certification in GCP, TCPS2, Lawson SOPs and IATA considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Word and Excel; experience with PowerChart and electronic data systems (REDCap) considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
