Children's Care - Critical Care Transport
In addition to Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) staff Registered Nurse (RN) responsibilities, the extended role transport RN will commit to a dedicated team to provide 24/7 transport of critically ill neonates and children. The extended role team will function under the direction of the Transport Medical Directives and physician transport leaders to stabilize and provide safe transport of the above population from community hospitals to the nearest accepting tertiary care Centre in the Province of Ontario.
Regular Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $39.07 per hour - $56.00 per hour
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C) for which you can provide proof
- NRP and PALS certification preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years recent nursing experience in Paediatric and/or Neonatal critical care
- Previous experience working on a Neonatal and/or Paediatric transport team preferred
- Demonstrated clinical competence in assessment and intervention for the critically ill neonatal and paediatric patients
- Thorough understanding and commitment to Patient and Family Centred Care principles and ability to use in practice
- Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to express ideas clearly, confidently and directly and work through conflicts and differences in a respectful way
- Ability to recognize own feelings, express them fully and constructively manage own feelings in challenging and emotionally charged situations
- Ability to express ideas clearly, confidently and directly and work through conflicts and differences in a respectful way
- Ability to understand the feelings, concerns and needs of other people, demonstrate care and interest towards them and establish and maintain productive relationships
