TEMPORARY PART-TIME REGISTERED DIETITIAN – For up to 12 months
May work up to 75 hours Bi-Weekly
Diabetes Education Program/Clinical Nutrition Department
Position Available Immediately
This individual will provide Registered Dietitian support to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and outpatients in our off-site clinics within partner communities. Inpatient coverage may be required on an as needed basis.
Rate of Pay: $42.930 - $54.878

Job Qualifications:
Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and provide proof of 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months
Membership in the College of Dietitians of Ontario – required
Valid driver’s license and unlimited access to vehicle for travelling to different clinic locations – required
Demonstrates effective interviewing, written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
Demonstrates value and personal success in collaborative teamwork
Demonstrates comfort and confidence in working independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office, e-mail, and literature searches
Certified Diabetes Educator designation – preferred
Applied knowledge of enteral and parenteral nutrition therapies – preferred
Applied knowledge of in Cerner power chart EPR – preferred
Main Duties:
Within the outpatient environment- provides individual and group nutrition assessment, counseling and evaluation of patients with diabetes and pre-diabetes
Within the inpatient environment- provides coverage on inpatient units, completes nutrition assessments and develops nutrition care plans for patients
Completes written and electronic documentation
Provides nutrition education to people with diabetes at various community outreach clinics and events/classes
Special projects as assigned
