Medical Imaging is an integrated subspecialty based academic department across London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital and University Hospital committed to providing quality-driven patient care. Our multidisciplinary team integrated by 352 staff, 40 Radiologists and Nuclear Medicine Physicians serve clients in Southwestern Ontario, across Canada and internationally with highly specialized imaging in neurology stroke, pediatrics, high risk obstetrical, orthopedic and cardiac imaging. Interventional Radiology UH

Reporting to the Coordinator, the Medical Radiation Technologist (IR) helps to coordinate the flow of the angiography rooms, assesses patients, prepares the procedure room, scrubs in to assist the radiologist during procedures, completes the digital filming, PACS, and Cerner, and assists in cleaning and stocking the procedure rooms.  The Medical Radiation Technologist ? Radiography performs fluoroscopy using ionizing radiation in compliance with the professional standards of the College of Medical Radiation Technologists. The successful candidate will ensure that patient care and comfort are maintained at all times and that protection measures are appropriately utilized in order to minimize hazards due to radiation.

Regular Part-Time

Rate of Pay:    $36.84 per hour - $ 50.24 per hour

Hours:             22.50 hours

 

Qualifications

 
  • Currently registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Certificate in Interventional Radiology (preferred)
  • Minimum of six (6) months previous experience in Interventional Radiology
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in interventional radiology procedures
  • Cerner, AGFA PACS experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC?s Vision, Purpose and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements 

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to: 

Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis; 

Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step); 

Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health?s current definition of being fully vaccinated
