Stem Cell Transplant and Cancer Services - Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre
The Quality Specialist is responsible for leading, coordinating, and evaluating the development and implementation of blood and marrow transplant (BMT) procedures and processes, from transplant referral to long term follow up care, in alignment with provincial strategic directions and guidelines for best practice. The individual will identify and build on opportunities for system change and strengthen current practices, to improve transplant care practices, care consistency, and reduce service gaps. This work involves a high degree of collaboration and coordination with both internal and external leadership, staff, physicians, and key stakeholders to develop creative approaches and innovative solutions to challenges in care delivery, communication, data collection, and system change. The individual will gather and analyze data for reporting to Ontario Health-Cancer Care Ontario (OH-CCO) to receive case-based funding for acute leukemia and stem cell transplant services, and in support of proposed projects, system requirements, quality improvement initiatives and educational opportunities.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $46.79 per hour - $58.48 per hour
- Successful completion of a Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences or a related discipline acceptable to the Hospital
- Current certificate of registration in good standing from a college under the Regulated Health Professions Act
- Minimum of three (3) years recent, related experience
- Five (5) years of recent, related experience in hematology-oncology or stem cell transplant, preferred
- Certification in Quality Management by an accredited institution preferred
- Knowledge of current regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Knowledge of project management, quality assurance, and information systems design
- Knowledge and experience with data collection and analysis.
- Strong analytic skills that contribute to effective problem solving and decision-making
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in program development, evaluation and education
- Advanced attention to detail
- Leadership and facilitation skills that accommodate multiple perspectives and stakeholders, inspire a shared vision
- Demonstrated computer proficiency with Automated Clinical Systems
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose, and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
