Salary Range: $38.31 - $38.49 /hour

The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic reports to the Facilities Engineering Coordinator. In this role you will work with the Facilities Management Team to diagnose, maintain and repair refrigeration related equipment, including but not limited to split system units, air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, and water/ice machines. Responsibilities of this role may also include operation, inspection, repair and maintenance of general building equipment as it relates to Life Safety, Mechanical, Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC and all other associated building systems.
Essential Qualifications
- Current Certificate of Qualification as a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic (313A) for the Province of Ontario
- Current Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate
- Secondary (High) School Diploma
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Minimum three (3) years demonstrated related experience
- Demonstrated experience in a customer-oriented environment
- Demonstrated effective organizational skills
- Demonstrated effective collaborative, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently
- Successful completion of a Mechanical Comprehension Test
- Must be capable of meeting the physical demand required to perform the essential duties of the classification
Preferred Qualifications- Previous work experience within a healthcare environment
- Gas Technician - G2 current certification

Immunization Requirements- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
