VH IP Critical Care Trauma Centre
The Critical Care Trauma Centre at Victoria Hospital offers a unique career opportunity for Registered Nurses with various levels of experience who want to work in Critical Care. The Critical Care Trauma Centre (CCTC) is dedicated to providing orientation, education, and training that is catered to experience level, to assist nurses in making the move.
The Critical Care Trauma Centre is a 31 bed tertiary care medical-surgical unit that provides life support and treatment to critically ill patients. CCTC supports the Trauma, Vascular, Thoracic, Oncology and ENT programs and is the regional referral centre for Trauma and Vascular. An academic centre, CCTC supports and participates in ongoing research, quality improvement and multidisciplinary activities.
Regular Full Time & Regulat Part Time
Rate of Pay: $39.07 per hour - $56.00per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 Hours per week
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C) for which you can provide proof upon request
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Minimum one year of recent medical or surgical nursing experience
- Recent, relevant Critical Care Level 2 or 3 experience preferred
- Critical Care Nursing Certificate CNCC (c) preferred
- Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
- Demonstrated ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and self-directed learning
- Demonstrated commitment to the employee performance development competencies
- Demonstrated computer proficiency with Automated Clinical Systems
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
- Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
