Salary Range: $44.95 - $52.87 /hour
As a Kinesiologist specializing in neurological conditions and individuals with mobility impairments, you will play a vital role in improving the movement and physical wellbeing of the Parkwood Fitness Centre membership. This position collaborates with a highly innovative team and is perfect for a professional looking to co-create new models of fitness programming, build meaningful relationships with members of our community and work with strong clinical and research teams.
Responsibilities include: intake, triage, scheduling and oversight of members in available fitness services; programming development for in-person activities; Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) cycling program set-up for individual members. Responsibilities also include supervision and training of students and volunteers who support Fitness Centre activities and programming.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor?s Degree in Kinesiology Sciences, Exercise Sciences, or in a related health science
- Valid registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
- Basic cardiac life support (BCLS)
- 2 years recent experience providing exercise prescription and supervised training and consultation to patients with chronic disease, upper extremity rehabilitation and/or reduced mobility secondary to neurological impairment or aging
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Demonstrated advanced competencies in interpersonal relations
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Comfort with teaching experiential learners
- Demonstrated knowledge of impairments of individuals with physical disability and implications for fitness programming
- Demonstrated understanding of program specific disease/conditions such as: cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, neurological impairments, upper extremity rehabilitation, geriatric conditions and aging processes
- Demonstrated competency in computer-based office technologies such as word processing programs, spreadsheets, presentation programs, data entry, and virtual care delivery programs
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Formal training in adapted fitness, eg. CAN-FIT-PRO

Immunization Requirements- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
