Switchboard Operator
Reporting to the Coordinator, the Switchboard Operator is responsible for answering and redirecting all internal and external telephone calls coming into the switchboard as well as processing the applicable emergency line code procedures within the organization. The Switchboard Operator is also responsible for the administration of applicable messaging devices.
Regular Part-time
Rate of Pay: $25.91 per hour - $27.79 per hour
Hours of Work: up to 22 hours per week
- Successful completion of a Secondary School diploma (OSSD) or equivalent acceptable to the Hospital
- Successful completion of an Emergency Telecommunications Certificate or two years of experience in a large volume inbound call center
- Recent and related Inbound call center and/or urgent dispatch experience of one year
- Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and email
- Demonstrated proficient communication skills; both verbal and written
- Advanced Attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care

London Health Sciences Centre is proudly one of Canada's largest acute-care teaching and research hospitals.
