Full Time
Salary Range: $34.60 - $40.73 /hour


The Space Planning Associate coordinates space planning requests and their related implications on staffing, room planning, master planning and corporate priorities. This role makes recommendations to leadership and/or space planning committees regarding space planning, solutions, and designs. This role will be responsible for maintaining all space records in accordance with departmental and corporate policies and support corporate wayfinding initiatives, as well as support the facilities project leads with temporary staff move and wayfinding needs.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3 Year Degree/diploma in architecture/architecture technology, interior design, or other related disciplined.
  • 3 years of experience in architectural design, interior design, planning, engineering, healthcare project management, or other related industry.
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Experience in space planning in an institutional setting is preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff in the organization
  • Ability to work in a team setting and collaborate towards a common goal
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints
  • Ability to interpret and critically analyze functional space related needs in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to develop budgets, track expenses, manage time effectively and develop schedules.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD software, Archibus software (preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge/awareness of Ontario Building Code, AODA, MOH Space Planning Guidelines, and other applicable legislation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • 5 years of experience in architectural design, interior design, planning, engineering, healthcare project management, or other related industry.

Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
