Salary Range: $44.67 - $57.90 /hour
The Dual Diagnosis Program provides specialized assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and support services to adults between the ages of 18 and 64 who have both a developmental disability and mental illness or severe behaviour disorder. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive support/rehabilitation/treatment to clients with serious and persistent mental illness and a developmental disability.
Using the principles of client-centered care and Psychosocial Rehab (PSR) within the context of an inter-professional team approach, frequently in conjunction with community partners.
Essential Qualifications
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Master's of Social Work
- At least two (2) years related social work experience
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge of and experience delivering a full range of high-quality social work services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and their families in the context of a tertiary level psychiatric hospital
- Skills in psychosocial assessment, treatment and counselling, basic knowledge of major mental illness, substance abuse, Psychotropic medications and symptom management
- Demonstrated skills in goal oriented, evidence-based practice approaches
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, PHIPA and other relevant legislation
- Comprehensive knowledge of, and ability to mobilize community, health/mental health / developmental service agencies and social welfare resources
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively within an inter-professional team
- Highly developed collaborative, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity, conflict resolution, facilitation and mediation skills
- Ability to travel within the communities
- Mental health experience
- Crisis intervention skills
- Evidence of professional growth and development
- Proficient computer skills with a variety of programs
Preferred Qualifications- Proficiency in French would be an asset.
- Previous experience working with individuals with a developmental disability and their families
- Skills and knowledge working with Adult Developmental Services Agencies, Developmental Services Ontario (DSO)
- Familiar with MCSS Quality Assurance Measures and legislation such as The Service and Supports to Promote Inclusion of a Person with a Developmental Disability Act

Immunization Requirements- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
