We are an integrated team that provides food and nutrition services to our patients and residents at all sites of St. Joseph's Health Care London. Our vision is to provide nutritional care that nourishes patients and residents, body, mind and spirit. We support our patients, community and the planet driven by our menu components which include, the patient voice, clinical requirements, budget, operations and sustainability. This is accomplished through our goals of increasing our local purchasing, growing fresh vegetables on site seasonally, composting and decreasing our food waste. Our departments operate within varying shifts from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week.

The Medically Complex Service is a part of the Complex Care Program and comprises two units that provide care for individuals with a variety of chronic and complex medical conditions. A broad range of patient care needs are supported by expert and diverse interdisciplinary care. The team provides a holistic and collaborative approach to care focusing on the physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of the patients. You will be responsible for initial nutrition screening and assessment, nutritional care planning and ongoing evaluation of progress toward the patient's nutrition goals. Our ultimate goal is to earn the complete confidence of our patients, and their families, by providing exceptional care that meets their individualized care needs. We value respect, excellence and compassion and consistently demonstrate these values in our interactions with our patients, family caregivers and coworkers.

The Medically Complex Service provides care to patients who require ongoing medical management as well as rehabilitation following a major medical event, accident or illness. We provide support to individuals with a range of chronic complex conditions including designated beds for patients requiring chronic ventilator support, and for individuals requiring long term medical care. The dietitian can expect to see patients with complex wounds, dysphagia, diabetes and enteral feeding.
