The Opportunity:
The Laundry Aide performs various laundry duties associated with providing residents with the required laundry service. The Laundry Aide assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members.
What Is In It For You:
- Sorts and separates items to be laundered in accordance with laundering requirements.
- Operates automatic washing machines, dryers, irons and sewing machine.
- Hand irons and folds/hangs garments after laundering.
- Performs simple mending and repairs.
- Transports laundered garments to appropriate floors.
- Ensures proper identification of all personal clothing.
- Maintains a clean work environment, dusting and washing equipment and shelves as required.
- Maintains appropriate level of supplies (e.g. soap, bleach, fabric softener and thread).
- Cleans work area upon completion of shift.
What You Will Need:
- Previous experience in a laundry operation is preferred.
- Must understand the basics of good laundry techniques/practices.
- A minimum of public-school education is required. Grade 12 Diploma preferred.
- Must be able to read, write and follow oral instructions.
