Job Summary

 

London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute (LHSCRI) provides scientific leadership aligned to the strategic plan and clinical strengths of LHSC.  Discovery-based scientists, clinical investigators, practice-based researchers, research staff and learners are supported through LHSCRI's Office of Research Services and Research Operations Office.  Research Operations are focused on integration of research in the hospital, and direct research support. 

Research Assistant will work with the Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroinflammatory Disorders Clinic Registry and related research. Responsibilities include clinical trial administrative start up duties; adherence to research protocols and ensuring studies are conducted accordingly; education and promotion of study to stakeholders; study enrolments and consent and data collection and entry.

Rate of Pay:                    $25.25 - $31.56

Hours of Work:              10 hours per week

Duration:                         Temporary Casual - Six-months with possibility of renewal

Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor's degree in science, health sciences or related field
  • Minimum of one year of clinical research experience 
  • Must have experience with REDCAP use and management
  • Experience with software such as Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Demonstrated organizational and analytical skill with strong attention to detail
  • Proven flexibility with a high level of initiative and self-direction
  • Ability to work well independently and as a member of the multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Immunization Requirements:  
 

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to: 

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;  

  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);  

  • Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health?s current definition of being fully vaccinated
