Medical Office Administrator
Seeking a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to support a pediatric neurology practice. The MOA is an essential staff member who supports organized and efficient clinic operations through communication with patients and families, scheduling, and records management.
Applicants demonstrating a commitment to work in healthcare, by virtue of education and/or work experience, will be viewed favourably. Applicants must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer phone calls (including checking voicemails, sending/receiving faxes) and direct information/requests to the appropriate staff
- Scan patient information into the EMR
- Schedule patient appointments within the EMR
- Obtain patient demographics and verify health card (OHIP)/health insurance status
- Collect basic medical measurements (Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Pulse)
Qualifications:
- Professional, respectful, and compassionate attitude
- Ownership of responsibilities and completion of tasks with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software
- Ability to learn/navigate Accuro Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software
- Previous Medical Office Assistant experience and/or experience using Accuro EMR is an asset
