Job Summary

 

London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute (LHSCRI) provides scientific leadership aligned to the strategic plan and clinical strengths of LHSC.  Discovery-based scientists, clinical investigators, practice-based researchers, research staff and learners are supported through LHSCRI's Office of Research Services and Research Operations Office.  Research Operations are focused on integration of research in the hospital, and direct research support. 

 

The Research Coordinator 1 supports the assigned research team in the conduct of clinical research studies under the direction of the Principal Investigator.  Responsibilities may include coordinating the day-to-day activities of a research project to ensure the successful completion of research protocols from study set-up to closeout. Ensuring compliance with study goals and objectives, standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements. Applies specialized knowledge to initiate, implement, coordinate, and manage single and/or multi-site research projects in all phases.  Performs routine tasks, tests, procedures and/or assessments in accordance with the study protocol, and regulated health professional practices.

 

This role liaises with patients, research and clinical staff, and external stakeholders in the conduct of research studies while ensuring compliance with the research study protocols, research policies and regulatory requirements.

 

Regular Full Time

Rate of Pay:           $32.66- $40.83

Hours of Work:      37.5 hours per week M-F

Qualifications

 
  • Successful completion of a community college diploma in a health related discipline preferred 
  • Demonstrated computer skills including MS Office applications, Power Chart
  • Demonstrated data base entry and clinical trial data management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ICH Good Clinical Practice, Health Canada and FDA regulations 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Well developed interpersonal, verbal and written skills for communicating effectively with health care professionals
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:  
 

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to: 

 

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;  

  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);  

  • Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health?s current definition of being fully vaccinated
