Patient Food Services

The Food Services Advisor will ensure policy and procedures are followed and provide appropriate tools to staff in order to supply nutritious and safe food to patients in a timely manner. The role is responsible to ensure all documentation, paperwork, and internal quality assurance is being completed.

Temporary Part-time (1 year contract)

Rate of Pay: $30.16 per hour - $37.72 per hour

Hours of Work: Up to 22 hours per week (no guarantee of hours)

 

Qualifications

 
  • Successful completion of a Two-year diploma in Food & Nutrition Management or as acceptable by the hospital
  • Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) certification required
  • Minimum 2 years related job experience
  • Knowledge of food science, therapeutic nutrition, food bacteriology, food service operations, preferably in an acute health care setting
  • Ability to self-direct, prioritize work and balance competing priorities in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, anticipate and address patient needs and satisfaction
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and corporate productivity tools (ex. CBORD)
  • Facilitation and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated successful team member and team builder
  • Specific knowledge of food service management principles
  • Knowledge of Occupation Health and Safety Act
  • Experience working in a unionized environment preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Basic background in clinical nutrition
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Vision, Purpose and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

London Health Sciences Centre is proudly one of Canada’s largest acute-care teaching and research hospitals. Immunization Requirements

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
