The successful applicant will be part of the Critical Care Research Group. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to conducting clinical research studies and clinical trials. The Research Assistant will be working under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Site Research Coordinator/ Manager.
Rate of Pay: $25.25 - $31.56 per hour
Hours of Work: Temporary Full Time 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 12 months, with potential for renewal

- Bachelor's degree in health sciences or related field
- One year of year recent related experience; preferably in a clinical research environment
- Experience with screening patients for randomized blinded drug trials or device trials
- Ability to communicate with families who are experiencing stressful or emotional circumstances
- Ability to communicate precisely with the treating team
- Experience with REDCap and other electronic data capture formats
- SOCRA or ACRP certified, an asset
- Ability to prioritize workload with attention to detail
- Proven flexibility with a high level of initiative and self-direction
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Cerner PowerChart an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Committed to ongoing learning
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis with a positive work record and excellent attendance record

Immunization Requirements:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health?s current definition of being fully vaccinated
