This is a Temporary Full-Time Position expected to extend October 31, 2025, subject to availability of work.

The Lawson Health Research Institute is one of Canada’s largest and most respected hospital-based research institutes. As the research institute of St. Joseph’s Health Care London and London Health Sciences Centre, and working in partnership with Western University, Lawson is committed to furthering scientific knowledge to advance health care around the world and to helping people live healthier lives by enhancing our knowledge of how to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease.

The successful applicant will be working under the supervision of Dr. Manuel Montero-Odasso, Director of the Gait & Brain Lab, a vibrant and busy hospital-based laboratory implementing clinical studies with older adults. The Research Assistant will work within a multi-disciplinary research team at Parkwood Institute and play a critical role in the operational success and logistics of the CCNA capacity building for trainees in the area of mobility and cognition in older adults, and also assisting with other research studies from the Gait and Brain Lab, such cognitive and mobility assessments to participants.

Responsibilities will include:
1-Assisting with scheduling visits, conducting study assessments, data entry, and supporting the logistics of meetings for two ongoing research projects: one focused on a training platform and the other involving a longitudinal study with older participants.
2-Scheduling and assisting in the logistics of meetings and assessments across both projects.
3-Assisting in the organization of research meetings (virtual and/or in person) twice a year for both projects.
4-Lead the day-to-day management of databases and social media outlets, under the supervision of study Research Coordinator (RC).



Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage various projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English.
  • Proficiency in data management and experience with software tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven flexibility with a high level of initiative and self-direction
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in supporting the organization of scientific/educational meetings and/or conference planning
  • Clinical Trials Management program or equivalent
  • Three years related research experience
  • Experience working with a geriatric population
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
