The Facilities Management team creates, maintains and sustains quality facilities and a healthy environment through leadership in energy stewardship and environmental sustainability. It is our mandate to design, provide and facilitate innovative solutions and technology that support London Health Sciences Centre's patient care, research and education mission. Through our collaborative structure and continual development of innovative ways to operate our facilities, the Facilities Management team is focusing on the future. Our objective is to constantly enhance the clinical, education and research infrastructure at LHSC so that our patients, staff and visitors can thrive in a safe and innovative environment.
Temporary Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $18.75
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 4-8 Months
What you will do:
- Assist department staff with updating, in AutoCAD, our multi-discipline (architectural, mechanical, civil, structural and electrical) digital record drawings, which includes approximately fifty-five buildings and encompasses in excess of 3,500,000 sq/ft building area at all three hospital sites.
- Assist department staff with room layouts for upcoming department moves using AutoCAD
- Assist department staff with site surveys to update Archibus facility data related to the use and occupancy of the space using tools such as Tablets and Archibus Mobile software.
- Assist department staff with the creation of multi-discipline drawings for renovation and/or construction in compliance with current regulations in conjunction with approved scope; May include schedules and specifications with documents.
- The student will be asked to work with the maintenance group as well as the projects and planning group throughout their work term.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code required
- Experience with the following software is preferred:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Archibus
- Microsoft Project
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a healthcare or hospital setting an asset
- Project management experience an asset

Immunization Requirements:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health's current definition of being fully vaccinated
