This is a temporary full-time position that is expected to extend until June 30, 2026, and is subject to the availability of work.

Reporting to the Director, Professional Practice, the Manager of Professional Practice is accountable for the Ministry of Ontario Human Health Resources (HHR) funded initiatives in supporting the onboarding of interprofessional staff and management of the education, support and appropriate reporting. In addition, this role is also responsible for providing leadership in the design, management and delivery of clinical education, ensuring alignment to accreditation standards and other quality and practice standards that will drive clinical excellence. The successful candidate will be accountable for day-to-day department activities, including the management and coordination of human and material resources, and organization for wide coordination of clinical onboarding. Strong skills in fostering effective working relationships and networks within the team/unit and with other teams across the organization will be critical to success.

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in health-related field
  • A member in good standing of a Regulated Health Care College
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in progressively more responsible leadership roles in a healthcare environment, preferably in an academic teaching hospital
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
  • Demonstrated clinical excellence experience including high quality and safe patient care and exceptional patient/family experiences
  • Professional practice expertise
  • Ability to effectively work with diversity, appreciating that different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics can bring richness to the challenge at hand
  • Experience in recruitment and retention activities
  • Intermediate Proficiency in computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, written (including report writing) and verbal communication skills, including the ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy with varied groups of stakeholders, including frontline staff, physicians, administrators
  • Experience in engaging and facilitating work with diverse groups of stakeholders; ability to tailor the approach based upon the audience
  • Highly competent and effective presentation and meeting facilitation skills including the ability to present and discuss complex information in a way that enables and establishes rapport, persuades, and influences others and gains understanding
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, take initiative and perform while in stressful environments
  • Superior analytical, interpretive and communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability manage multiple projects and constantly adjust priorities
  • Demonstrated experience in adult education, with a solid understanding of adult education principles
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of legislation related to Employment, People & Financial Management
  • Possess strong Leadership Capabilities including: Lead Self; Engage Others; Achieve Results; Develop Coalition; System Transformation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset

Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
