The Resource Teams provide flexible, responsive staffing support across London Health Sciences Centre to help maintain safe, high-quality patient care and support organizational capacity needs. The program includes Nursing and Personal Support Worker (PSW) resources that are deployed or coordinated to support clinical areas based on patient care requirements, staffing pressures, and operational priorities. There is also a dedicated Staffing and Scheduling team that supports the effective use of Nursing Resource Team (NRT) resources. Working collaboratively with clinical leaders, staffing and scheduling partners, and interprofessional teams, the Resource Teams support continuity of care, patient and staff safety, and effective day-to-day operations across the organization. The team plays an important role in supporting patient flow by helping clinical areas respond to changing volumes, acuity, and health human resource needs while contributing to a positive and reliable care experience for patients, families, and staff.
Job Summary
The Manager, Resource Teams provides operational leadership for the Nursing and Personal Support Worker (PSW) Resource Teams, ensuring resources are deployed effectively to support safe patient care, staffing stability, and organizational capacity needs. As a leader of leaders, this role supports and develops front-line leadership capacity within the Resource Teams, including the ongoing coaching, mentorship, and development of PSW Coordinators. This role works closely with clinical leaders, staffing and scheduling partners, union partners, and interprofessional teams to align resource team operations with patient care priorities, patient flow demands, and evolving health human resource pressures. The Manager supports day-to-day service delivery, team performance, workforce planning, quality improvement, and the development of a healthy, collaborative work environment that enables responsive and reliable support across LHSC.
Reporting to the Director, Patient Flow & Resource Teams, the Manager, Resource Teams directs, controls and evaluates the delivery of department services. They are responsible for translating decisions of the program leadership into execution, by utilizing relationship management and working with internal and external partners to achieve the necessary outcomes. The Manager ensures their team and department operations are aligned with our mission, vision and values, while working together to successfully achieve our strategic objectives.
This role is accountable for day-to-day department activities, including the management of human and material resources, day-to-day staffing and scheduling, development and support of a healthy workplace, risk and utilization measurements, and facilitation of improvement initiatives and change management, while operating within approved operational budgets and financial guidelines and controls. A major focus of the role is fostering effective working relationships and networks within the team/unit and with other teams across the organization.

What You Will Bring with You
- Successful completion of a recognized baccalaureate degree program in a health care related discipline, preferred*
- Related post-graduate education preferred
- Current Certificate of Registration from a college recognized under the Regulated Health Professions Act preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in progressively more responsible leadership roles in a healthcare environment, preferably in an acute care academic teaching hospital
