Temporary Full Time
Salary Range: $25.25 - $31.56 /hour

This Temporary Position is expected to extend approximately July 09, 2025

The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr. Eldon Loh, in the role of the “Clinical Research Assistant” for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinical Research Unit (PRCRU). The candidate will assist in the conduct of clinical research studies including pre-screening, recruitment of study participants, data entry, and providing administrative support. The incumbent reports any adverse events to the study coordinator and may assist in investigational product reconciliation. This position is a 5-day per week (37.5-hour week), six-month position, with the possibility of renewal.

The incumbent will maintain certification in:
WHMS training
Shipping of Dangerous Goods training

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in a health-related field
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and have the ability to deal with confidential matters;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to communicate effectively general and scientific information both verbally and in writing at all levels;
  • Good judgement, initiative, tact, and professional attitude in the workplace;
  • Adaptable, flexible, and resourceful. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSMT certificate and current registration
  • Phlebotomy expertise
  • Prior experience working in a laboratory
  • Prior clinical trials experience
  • Experience in manual assays
  • Experience working in an academic/research environment
  • Experience working with special populations including spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke, etc. would be an asset
  • CPR certificate up to date
  • Training in ICH/GCP guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams, e.g. including faculty, staff, students and residents;
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine or proof of one dose and a signed commitment to receive a second dose within a specified timeframe, (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
