This is a Temporary Full-Time position anticipated to extend until August 29, 2025, and is subject to the availability of work.

Parkwood Institute Mental Health is looking for summer employees to support program staff and promote the overall wellness of patients by supporting recreational activities for inpatients at Parkwood Mental Health. Position requirements will include the following: supporting the Therapeutic Recreation Specialists in varying recreational programming and tasks, assisting with centralized therapeutic activities and events, working with their assigned teams to regularly engage with patients and assisting teams in planning, running and preparing activities and events both on the units or off the units as assigned. Other duties as assigned may include the following: escorting patients to and from services, assisting patients in off ward passes and preparing security bracelets for same; assist patients and visitors with wayfinding to and from appointments.
Hours of work between 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday.

Essential Qualifications

• Secondary (High) School Diploma
• Highly motivated and determined
• Communication Skills (written, oral)
• Strong customer service focus and the ability to work in a team setting
• Attention to detail
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Good decision-making skills required

• Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
• Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
